Ok I'll Do It

I got tagged by Amy. I don't know how I feel about getting tagged, but I do know that it at least got me to write on my blog.

20 years ago (1988)
1. I was 12yrs old.
2. Was in the seventh grade (oh, how awful that really was)
3. Believe it or not...I still played Barbies on the front lawn with my best friend Jennifer Adams(now Allen). She brought the house and cars, I brought all the clothes and assecories.

10 years ago (1998)
1. We celebrated our third anniversary.
2. Had my 5 year High School Reunion. I went to Kearns High. (very proud of it back then, not so sure how I feel now) Oh yeah I did not even go to the reunion. NO interest there for me.
3. Had our first baby, Hailey Elaine. (Aug. 20th)
4. Quit my job of 6yrs. to stay at home and be a Mom.

5 years ago (2003)
1. Coping with having two children. Curtis Bryan turned 1 in Feb.
2. Adam lost his job (just before Curtis' birthday). After some looking Adam settled (yes I said Settled) for a job with Discover Card. It was not much but we had insurance and a little money.
3. We sold our truck (to make a little money).
4. Put our 1st and only house up for sale. We moved into my mother in laws home while she is in Phoenix working. (We should be here a little longer. ?????)
5. Actually went to the family park day for my High School reunion. (Not the dinner part, could not afford the $50 dinner)

1 year ago (2007)
1. Adam and his siblings (yes even Julie) went to a Denver Broncos game, Most importantly it was the Pittsburgh Steelers game. (but unfortunately they lost) They had a great weekend together.
2. In Oct Rob moved out of our home (okay his moms Home) to live with a friend and feel more grown up (and have some privacy I think, living with a family had to be hard).
3. We drove to Arizona (7 months Pregnant) for Thanksgiving with Alyson and family.

So far this year(2008)
1. Had our 4th baby in Feb.
We now have Hailey 10 in Aug., Curtis 6, Jessica 2 and now Sophie Dawn.
2. We celebrated our 13 year of marriage. My mom took ALL four kids for the weekend so we could spend some much needed time together.
3. We went camping with family and friends to Capital Reef with yes all four kids. Sophie was just 3mths old.
4. We had two children within three days of each other break there arms in my backyard on our swing set. ( I was an emotional wreck.)

Yesterday
1. Slept in...(after another horrible night of sleep).
2. Watched Lindsey while Bliss took Kelsey to get her cast (on the broken arm in my backyard).
3. Celebrated Adam's last day doing the paper route.
4. Went to the DoDo with girlfriends. Just a nice get away.
5. Weeded the garden. (yuck)
6. Stayed up until 10 with Adam (usually bed time has been around 8 for Adam and 10 or later for Heather) (Yeah)

Today
1. Slept in after another unforgettable nights sleep. (Curtis throwing up because he was dehydrated, Sophie crying out and Jessica waking early, like 6 am)
2. Started Laundry.
3. Started a new book (Stephanie Meyers The Host)

Tomorrow
1. My Mother in Law is back in town. (The kids are so excited)
2. Maybe go to the zoo.
3. More laundry.
4. Date night with Adam, YEAHHHHHH!!!!!

Next Year
1. Hopefully taking the kids to Disney Land (we are saving money.)
2. Hopefully be in the same house.

If you want to get tagged, Go For It!!
I think most of you have done some sort of tag lately, enjoy.

Crazy???

Yes I am officially crazy. This past week we helped Ken & Emily (Adam's brother & wife). They went to California for vacation and left us with Sarah. The crazy part is that Sarah is 6mths old. Yes count it out five children, three of them 2 and under, & two of them two months apart. We had such a good time. We even endured going to the zoo. (Yes I am crazy) We did baths, feed meals, went to my moms for dinner, had birthday cake with grandma and grandpa, and did all the other daily tasks that occured during the week( the neighborhood yard sale & block party too). I actually got some down time every day when they took a nap at the same time. They both slept through the night and were both very happy
babies. Yeah for us.

Sophie is 4mths. old

Where is the time going. Today was Sophie's 4 mth. check up. She weighs in at 12 lbs. 6 oz. and is 22 1/2 inches long. She has gained 4 lbs since her 2 mth check up. Yeah!! not such a pee-wee anymore. Although she still looks little.

Last Day of School!!

The kids leaving for school today were both excited and a little nervous. They want to be out for the summer but they also don't want to leave behind the friends they have made and the fun teachers they had this year.

I went over to the school to pick Curtis up at 10:00 am and take some pictures. They were watching a movie when I arrived. Then it was time to clean the tables and chairs.

While cleaning I managed to snap a picture or two with Curtis' friends. This is one of his best friends Zach. They love to play together. Then a friend handed out bubble gum leis. He thought it was really cool to have one (especially when we saw the big kids out in the hall and they all wanted it), until we got home then he gave it to me (because he hates bubble gum). Mrs. Mayfield then handed out report cards and we went to find some of the big kids out in the hall signing year books.
This is Hailey and her best friend Emma out finding people to sign year books.
We came home for a few minutes to eat lunch and put kids down for a nap. Then returned at 12:15 pm to get more pictures and say goodbye to Hailey's friends. The teachers brought the kids outside to watch the flag come down one last time (for the year). Then the teachers hand out report cards and send everyone home. It was a little emotional to watch.
Hailey was a little shy this year with the camera. She did not want me to take many pictures. I did however try to get a few when she wasn't looking. This is Hailey and her teacher Ms. Tiess. Hailey did great this year. It was a little tough being in a 4th/5th grade split but she was amazing and made many great friends this year. After school lets out each year we have tried to get a picture with the three friends from our street. Hailey, Madison, and Kelsey.

It is a little sad to think ahead to next year. My baby boy is all grown up and going into first grade. He is already ahead a little in reading and loves to do math. He has a great start. Hailey will be in fifth grade. That is only two more years in elementary school for her. Wow. (I'm not that old.)

School's Out for the Summer!!

I don't know how excited I am about this. Yeah for sleeping in (only if Jessica would cooperate). Boo for the "I'm bored" phrase.

Today is the first day off and this is all my kids did:

Hailey slept in until 10:00 when I had Curtis wake her up. Curtis was up early (7:30) and was watching TV. Jessica was noticed around 6:45, but Adam suspects that she was up much earlier than that. While I took Jessica and Sophie to the doctors the kids stayed behind and played Wii. Then had a little lunch and are vegging in front of the TV again. I must say it has made for a very nice, quite, peaceful afternoon.

I guess we will have to start our summer routine Monday.

Jessica turns 2!!

We celebrated Jessica's Birthday today. Yeah we have made it two years.

Jessica is so sweet, stubborn, loving, energetic, thoughtful, & happy. We love having this spitfire in our family. Some of Jessica's Favorite things are: Playing (living) outside, having friends over, riding her bike (stealing all the neighbors bikes), having treats, helping mom with Sophie, watching "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", playing babies, & climbing (everything). Jessica loves her green blanket. She takes it everywhere (including camping, hauling it through the dirt).

(hauling the blanket camping)

Setting up for the party.

Jessica loves cupcakes. (so this is her birthday cake)

Opening one of her many presents.

This was her favorite present.

A water table. (Mom will be happy, Jess will play for hours.)

Jess eating her cupcake.

(she only wanted the frosting.)

Camping with 4 Kids

Yes I said we went camping with all four of our beautiful children.

Adam's Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jann (& there 6 out of 7 children) and Our Great Friends & Like Family Ennis and Pricilla Anderson (& there 3 out of 4 children & there kids) invited us to the annual Capital Reef camping trip.

We left early Friday morning (We tried for 7, left at 8 which by the time we got air in the tires and gas in the van it was 9.) and arrived at 1:00 in Capital Reef. We enjoyed setting up our camp site. We had two tents, one for mom, dad, Jess, & Sophie, and the other for Hailey and Curtis. Curtis spent most of the first day sleeping. He had helped Adam with the paper route that morning and after we set up the tents and rested for a moment he fell asleep. We woke him at 10:00 to go potty and eat a little something. He went right back to sleep and slept a total of almost 16 hours. Friday night was visiting with The Anderson and Parry families. Saturday was a fun day. We started with a good breakfast so that we could spend the day hiking. Uncle Jeff wanted to do a day hike. It was a 6 1/4 mile hike. I did not know how intense it would be, so we took all four kids. I hiked most of the way with Sophie in her front pack. Adam held, carried & dragged Jessica. We took turns trying to keep Hailey and Curtis up with most of the group. We spent much of the hike at the back of the pack. It started out on a dirt path with lots of caves.

Curtis, Hailey & Julie Ann climbing on the rocks.

Jessica holding up the rock.

After a mile or so we hit the river. Yeah that is what the kids were looking forward to. It also keep the kids going. For a mile or so I tried to keep my feet dry. I stumbled a few times, got a tiny bit wet. The kids had water shoes on so they were good. I finally stopped and got my water shoes on and it made the rest of the hike easier. While walking through the water we encountered 3 pretty good sized water falls. (about 5-8 feet tall) We had a description that told us how to hike around and down the sides. But this did require handing down children and helping most of the adults.

Cassia, Hailey, & Jeff at the bottom of a waterfall.
Adam & Jess walking the river.

Hailey enjoyed spending most of the time soaked head to toe in the water. Jessica preferred to walk, although we preferred to carry her (a lot faster). Curtis liked the water at first, but towards the end he got tired and cold. At our last stop he sat in the middle of the river letting the water push at his back (darn it I didn't get a picture). He did this for like ten minutes. Then decided he was too cold. The last 2 miles of the hike were hard for him. I did great until the last water fall. I handed Sophie off handed down the blanket and everything. Then thought that I would let Jeff help me down. But I lost my footing and went down the waterfall, yes face first and getting myself completely wet. To make things funnier, I was laughing so hard I couldn't stand up. Jann thought I had Sophie and that I was drowning her. When she finally realized that someone else had her she was laughing so hard she could not help me up. I was quite the site. Now hiking was hard. My jeans made it hard to move. I could not lift my feet high enough. I traded Adam children. (I think he got the easy end of things.) I hiked a half a mile (maybe, not even that if you want to know the truth.) and tripped on a rock. I fell, taking Jessica to the water with me. I hit my knee and evidently most of my leg (the evidence being the bruises on my leg and knee) on the way down. So Lisa helped carry Jessica out the rest of the way. The hike was supposed to last 4 hours, we turned it into a 6 hour hike. But what a blast we had.
After getting back to camp having lunch and resting a bit, they decided to back to a place called the Watering Hole. (another waterfall with a pool at the bottom to play in) I can't believe they had the energy to go. I stayed back with the two babes and rested. We had such a good time with family. (thanks guys for inviting us) Sunday we packed and came home. It took me three days to recover and yet it was so worth it. What a fun weekend at Capital Reef.

Olivia found a lizard she carried around for awhile.

Curtis spent most of the time after the hike playing game boy.

There was so many caterpillars.
Jessica was my only child not afraid to pick them up.
She picked (squished) them up, held them to her face.
She would even let them climb on her.
